Whats the comic source?

I’m the artist and poster ☺️
Is this what non premium members deal with?
Invidious + Freetube
Just use brave browser.
Chromium is a hard no, host your own DNS resolver and create your own blocklist.
Last I knew DNS blocking isn’t able to reliably block YouTube ads
No, but Invidious instances can. That was my response to “Just use brave browser”.
Invidious + Firefox + Managed DNS Resolver yields similar results to YouTube + Brave and is open source.
Okay that’s fair. I recently dropped brave from my Android and just went back to Firefox. Not like super pleased with Mozilla but I’ll take it for now.
firefox and ublock
YouTube Revanced on mobile, otherwise FF+Ublock (if someone is an iPhone user, I guess FF+Ublock on mobile too)
Yeah, just no
just give the scammers your credit cards directly, that way you don’t have to worry about them stealing your identity in the future
i don’t think that’s a replacement for youtube on tv
I don’t consider smart TVs to be real devices
Use a VPN and choose Albania as a country. No ads.
I’ve had really bad experiences with alternative front ends, I find using a VPN a much better.
so like i stream over a playstation
Then you limited on your options, since you can’t installs apps freely. The best option is probably a router that supports VPN connections or a node in your network that acts as a proxy.
Jellyfin+ytdl-sub is quite nice.
SmartTube
Grayjay
Theon Grayjay stole my costle!
wiggles hotdog menacingly
Not like this if you pay 🤷♂️
You only get the super long ad shot like this after binging on the free plan for hours.
I don’t get this and I don’t pay lol
Does this actually happen?
If I didn’t have adblocked devices I’d probably quit the internet. I don’t know how y’all live like that.
Heey mouths! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 GG!
Laughs in Firefox
Gather round kids…
YouTube used to not have any sort of video ads whatsoever.
None. Zero.
Not even “sponsors”.
I just don’t want people to forget how it once was…
just that video of that cool kid doing star wars in his garage.
we all wished we were that free
that was during the growth phase, we’re in the monopoly phase now…
Tbf, the content was different too
Do this

You can’t delete it because that’s legal. But you can totally disable it and it will definitely not run accidentally in the background. It’s just stealing your battery power and storage.
For the record, I was able to uninstall it from my phone.
How?
Never mind, I just checked the pull up menu and didn’t see it so I just assumed it was uninstalled, but no it’s just stopped.
Armok the bunny, more like Armok the
liardidn’t check their phone before telling us their youtubes were baleeted
May I offer you some ADB on this trying time?
I’ve been afraid of using that. I guess I should try that.
oh, just like facebook
A thousand thousand people have said it before me, but it is still fucking insane to me that OEMs can just mandate what is installed and not installed on your device.
I had gone from a Galaxy S5 to a J7 Pro, to a Pixel 4a and now to a 7a. All of them only ever had custom ROMs while I owned them, so I completely skipped out on both this shit, and all other OEMs locking you out from the bootloader.
I understand system apps not being able to uninstall, but you seriously can’t remove YouTube from an android phone???
I’m confused. I haven’t seen an ad on YouTube in like 7 years.
What’s your method? Some still randomly seep through for me
Firefox and uBlock Origin extension
Firefox, ublock origin, adblock plus, privacy badger, and pihole.
when google was really hammering home on their anti-adblocker bullshit the UX was shit. so, I just opened several dozen tabs on a windows device on my network and had them spam refreshes every second for weeks. eventually either by my own hand or by the devs at one of the solutions above, the UX went back to normal.
I don’t know anything about this so maybe someone could enlighten me, but how would/could YouTube have a sustainable business model? Server maintenance costs money right?
Btw I don’t support ads, I block them on all my computers and hopefully eventually on my TV with pihole if I can ever get it to work ;._.
Youtube was always operating at a loss. Fueld by Google advertising money.
This means they killed almost every competition.
Now they want to leverage their monopoly and make it profitable. This means you must have a subscription. The ads aren’t going to cut it. This will not pay the servers and shit. Only a subscription will do. However youtube aims for much gains so be ready to pay much more than needed.
The ads they now aggressively show of course pay some shit but the main goal seems to be being as annoying as possible to get people to pay for the subscription.
Btw I don’t support ads, I block them on all my computers and hopefully eventually on my TV with pihole if I can ever get it to work ;._.
pihole won’t block youtube ads. youtube ads are coming from the same domain.
what is your TV brand?
It’s a Samsung monitor iirc. Wanted to get something that didn’t require smart TV software to work.
does it have apps? or are you going to use a computer with it?
Rn I’m just using Apple TV apps. That’s where I folded along the privacy-convenience spectrum.
don’t bother with a broken platform. we all know youtube sucks. there’s either a free (as in, actually serves the people) alternative platform or none at all, to me it is.
