Idk, listening to songs like Buddy Holly in its fullest is like nails on a chalkboard for me, the vocalist just deadass can’t sing, and they shift ranges like crazy, even sounding off key in some places. I love hearing the remixes of it, and I like the lick at the end, but that’s about it. They play that stuff on the radio all the time and I see Weezer referenced EVERYWHERE but do fans actually like the music or is it all just Ironic, 'cause I can only find myself and my friends enjoying it out of irony

yes, fans of things like those things. thats why they are fans of it, by definition.

art is subjective. Im sure there are things you like that others wont, it does not mean you are somehow faking it or only doing it ironically.

I’m not a super fan of Weezer, but I crank it up and sing along when they come on.

The 90s were called Grunge for a reason. Everything was a little rough around the edges. We didn’t auto tune or add computer generated synth beats. Just guys with guitars rocking out.

Look at Nirvana. Kurt himself knew he couldn’t sing very well, but we ate that shit up!

I think I like Weezer. I also like that Weezer seems to get a lot of hate, but doesn’t seem to care and just keeps going. If a Weezer song comes on, I’m unlikely to change the channel, but I’m also unlikely to seek it out (except maybe Franks and Beans…haven’t watched that video in years…also Charlie the Unicorn).

I was thinking if you said something from the later albums, but no. Yes fans love Buddy Holly, everybody pretty much loves the Blue album lol.
