Buy a 4lb bag of Vital Wheat gluten. (Can be aquired on Anthony’s Goods website.)
Mix it about 50-50 with water, and just… do stuff with it.
Example1: Mix 350 grams of gluten powder with 450 grams of water (Optional 5 grams of MSG) and stir it together until it’s a big blob. Pick it up and stretch it in every possible direction and knead the absolute shit out of it. Divide into 7 portions, and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 250°F/120°C for about 2 hours. You now have a 50 grams of protein blob for each day of the week, to be sliced and dovided however you wish throughout the day.
Example2: Get a ripping hot skillet and dump in Some™ gluten powder and Approximately® twice as much water and vigorously stir it with, like, a fork or something like that, and dump some cooking oil on it as an afterthought, and dump some spices in it and boil off all the water to make a fake Taco meat mix. If it sticks, take it off the heat and add a splash of water to unstick it, and it’s okay to jave juicy taco seitan crumbles. You actually cannot fuck this up.

There’s a difference between A) ignoring the opinions of a particular fascist and B) ignoring a year-over-year increase in the population of people openly expressing fascist opinions.

Most people can be convinced of something. I have a lot of debates, both in person and online, and I’ve gotten somewhat decent at it. I think the most important thing is setting a realistic goal.
Did I convince a group of young earth creationists that the theory of evolution by natural selection is the best explanation for the diversity of life? No I did not. Did I convince some of them that biologists aren’t a part of a satanic conspiracy, and that they’re just trying to come up with good explanations for the stuff they see? Yes, I think so.
Did I convince a “pro-life” friend that abortion should be exclusively the host’s decision? No I did not. Did I make them recognize that drawing the line on when abortion should or should not be allowed is harder than they had assumed, and that IF the government is going to draw that line, they should at least consult some medical experts? Yes, I think so.
On some level it might feel like it’s not enough… But there isn’t anything better, so I’ll take what I can get. Good luck out there.
Imagine there are no taxes and no welfare programs. Spending resources on the welfare of others is entirely voluntary.
Let’s say 20% of the population does this. What happens? The 20% of the population which is the most altruistic has fewer resources, some of which was goven to the 80% least altruistic people.
If you do this repeatedly, ahat happens? The least altruistic people end up with the vast majority of resources. This is bad.
What do we do instead? We establish a governmental welfare program, and we make everyone contribute to it, regardless of whether they’re altruistic or not.
