I don’t believe that’s true - handedness is a real thing. You might be able to learn to perform well enough with the other at something with practice, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a naturally dominant hand for most people.

Okay, but you still need to get electricity to the electric motor. How would you so that?
So then you have copper cables covered in something to insulate them that are long enough to cover a whole field, which by itself would likely be problematic at the time.
For most applications, I’m guessing the windmill directly to the machine is going to make more sense, though of course that has to be a stationary machine.
I understand that but it’s not useful in this context, is it? You make an electric motor to power something, and then you have to use a mechanical generator to power the motor. How is that helpful? Unless you also know how to make batteries.
Yeah, my first was a little Timex Sinclair and it didn’t have any media. But each button on the keyboard had a Basic command as an alt key, so I taught myself Basic with it. Many years later I got my BS in Computer Science, so I think it was a pretty worthwhile little computer.
Where do you get the electricity for your motors?
I love that show - it and The Twilight Zone are probably my all time favorites. The production is amazing and it’s just so fun and interesting.
Unexpectedly interesting and educational cartoon discussion thread.
That is very truly unfortunate.
Yeah, for a while there was really good progress on search results serving up the things you’re looking for, and not just by Google. I remember how impressed I used to be by the Amazon search engine. I could put a description of something that I didn’t know the name of into the search box and the first result was usually what I wanted. I could sort by user rating and usually get the best one on top.
Now there are pages of sponsored products that keep getting shown if you keep scrolling. The search engine has become completely enshitified, and so many bots have created positive and negative reviews that the ratings are way less useful.
I would watch him in anything, whatever his name is.
Interesting, I wonder what the difference is.

If you read the post body, the nest is right above the door.

All of the folks I know who were progressive when younger are at least as progressive now.
There’s a very large minority of progressive boomers, and a similarly sized large minority of younger conservatives. The differences aren’t that huge. But there’s this narrative that all boomers are right wing assholes that everyone here seems happy to latch onto, while also condemning discrimination of pretty much any other group.
Well, except billionaires - I think we can all agree discrimination against billionaires is justified.
Have you been to a priest lately? It’s like 75 percent boomers around me. The stereotype of boomers all being conservative assholes is just that, a stereotype. Look at the results of the last few elections by age demographics: more older folks voted Republican than Democrat, but not by much.

He’s about as relentless as those guys, that’s for sure. I’m laying in bed waiting this, listening to his tap tap tapping.

As I said to someone else, I don’t want to use any that will scare them away in case there are eggs or babies.
I think most of those stickers are designed to let the birds know there’s glass there so they don’t fly into it. I don’t think that’s the issue here - I think he’s seeing his reflection. I’m guessing I’d have to cover the glass with something less reflective to eliminate the issue.

I don’t know if there are eggs or babies yet and don’t want to do anything that will scare them away.

I know they have some with a spider web pattern embedded in UV or something that the birds can see but humans don’t. Apparently weeks really well but it’s expensive.
Your sheets feel grimy after a week or so? Do you have a very physical job?
I’m pretty sedentary, and I’m not even sure I could tell when my sheets need cleaning by feel. I wash them ever couple of weeks or so because I’m guessing they’ve absorbed some body oils by then, but not such that I can see or feel it.
