0·6 days agoNah, new star trek doesn’t feel classic enough because it’s too netflixed out. Meaning it doesn’t fit comfortable aesthetics, doesn’t feel self-contained (stand alone episodes). Doesn’t feel in-world, and isn’t set in a likeable section of time in Star Trek lore.
Most people who don’t like New Star Trek want a TNG, VOY, or DS9 era timeline, featuring a strong actress or actor as the Captain, that’s episodic in nature, and operates as a philosophical defense/testing/statement about the best parts of western progressive/liberal democracy using sci fi as a metaphor or container.
Star Trek isn’t a place for dark gritty season long arcs that feel like movies that aren’t going anywhere. No, we want philosophical premises, in well let carpeted spaces, about interesting technology, aliens, and psychology… That years later we realise were subtle commentaries (or even hopeful suggestions) about real world problems.
Lower Decks is currently the best fit for this.
The war on the Iranian regime is way more justifiable, being for the imec trade corridor which is likely to bring traditional enemies together on the same side, than the war in Iraq (which was about resources for America and the Bush family lineage).
Unless they’re in Australia and NZ, then they become “Whinging Poms” because they used to not be able to handle the weather and culture.

I don’t know the toilet brush doesn’t have to work two or three times a day… In fact, he works once a month at best and tends to come out clean.
Tooth brushes die so much quicker because of job related stress. It also gets the impression of being eaten every time.
…I think the tooth brush may have it worse.

Trump’s dad hated black people and sheltered Nazis and the KKK, Thiel’s dad is from a Nazi town in South Africa, Musk’s father and grandfather went to South Africa just for the racism.

253·15 days agoPoorly written though, saying there’s 4 extruders then only listing 3 is the kind of statement an LLM would make.
A professional would go ask the obvious question, does it have an extruder for metal (rather than metal embedded filaments, which would limit current flow).
