Damn near everyone was making a coin at some point. Again, why would they remove or get rid of a feature they spent time, money, and energy to develop when it doesn’t hurt anything by being there. In fact, they’d have to spend more time, money, and energy to remove it than if they just left it in place.

It’s important to remember that for a lot of programs that have some tangentially related crypto feature, crypto used to be popular. It still is popular in some circles. There was a time when it made sense to include those features because users were asking for it. So time, money, and energy was spent to add those features.

What do you expect them to do with those feature now? You really think they’re just going to delete them? Why would they remove an already developed and implemented feature? They hurt nothing. People don’t have to use them. Them existing doesn’t take anything away from the app functionality.

It’s like being upset that old car models weren’t recalled to remove ash trays and cigarette lighters when smoking became unpopular.

I wouldn’t say it’s worse. It technically claims to have end-to-end encryption while telegram doesn’t. I wouldn’t trust it at all because it’s from Meta, but I don’t see how you can say the one at least claiming to have encryption is worse than the one that just flat out doesn’t have it.

For people who think they’re winning by fucking with scammers, unless you are tying up hours of their time, you are doing the opposite by engaging with them. And even if you tie up hours, they aren’t really losing.

Obviously, falling for the scam is their ideal outcome, but ANY engagement beyond silence, a generic VM, or a disconnected/fax line marks your number as ‘active’ which can then be sold to other scammers.

So they still get a profit, and your number winds up on more scamming lists.

We are also getting close to the point where it won’t even be an actual human you’re talking to, it’ll just be some AI, making engagement even more useless.

If you get a call from an unknown number and you don’t have call screening, answer and SAY NOTHING! Not hello, not “may I ask whose calling”, mute your phone so they don’t even get background noise. The only numbers they can’t get anything out of are the ones that are brick walls.

As much as I would love if that narrative was true, it is typically the upper-middle to super-upper class that goes to events at the Kennedy Center. While their audience may lean slightly more left than your local country club members, they are still wealthy. I promise they are not having trouble filling seats as the wealthy do not give nearly as much of a shit about Trump as the rest of us.

Exactly. The top 10% of the US population is currently responsible for 50% of spending, which is propping up the economy. But places like Vegas don’t cater to the top 10%. Oh sure, there are high-roller areas; but for the most part, Vegas caters to the lower-middle class. Shockingly, rich people don’t like hanging around smokey casinos and a bunch of drunk gambling addicts. It’s no surprise that it’s suffering.

Ok then why do waiters always make it SO FUCKING HARD TO LEAVE?! Most of the time, I wind up waiting for the check to show up, often I have to flag someone down to get it.

And then, the most ridiculous part of the whole ritual; they drop off the check and then leave! Imagine if that happened anywhere else. Go through the grocery aisle, get all your stuff scanned, and then the person working the checkout just walks away for 5+ minutes.

And then, when they finally show up and take the check with your card, they leave for another 5+ minutes. What is taking so long?! It is 2026, how do you not have a functional POS system??

Places that let you pay with your phone and leave when you’re ready are the best. Even ones that have the waiter come to the table with a pad you can pay on are good. I just hate the black booklets, such a horrible, inefficient way to pay.
