Rut. Thanks for ruining my day, sigh. That shit better be a patch away from removal / spoofing…

Doing your research beforehand instead of diving in and working it out as you go (extends beyond the digital space as well). Probably less fun, but far more efficient, bop those known unknowns people.
“I should have gathered all of the necessary things ahead of time.”
Also known as a staging area.

“Don’t worry about that, you can just run it in the cloud for an eternal subscription” - Microslop.

Conspicuously absent are tax avoidance and fraud (insider trading and whatever soon to be illegal scam fintech dreams up, currently AI circlejerk for example), which likely gives wage theft a serious run for it’s money (boom boom), and as u/minorkeys says, labour value theft is where the capital comes from.
I mean, technically, an eBike is an Electric Vehicle, and not a fucking car. Otherwise, hard agree.

This, but also remember that never touching games with that sort of crap, on principle, is an option as well.

I’d go so far as to blacklist individual sites based on a threshold upvote on the top negative post (can be automated), and give a mechanism to undo it, poll perhaps, if people care enough they’ll protect. It will naturally tend to negative, but given 90%(+ these days) of everything is crap -Sturgeon’s law - it should work out.
And ideally the storage will be encrypted and have basic privacy assurances.
Why would you trust a company to encrypt for you when Cryptomator exists ?
Also, a couple of 4TB drives for cold backup (one offsite) avoids another subscription.
What you are describing maps quite well to the Quantum Memory Model (accessible explanation here) of Physics. Certainly considering information a fundamental quantity that can neither be created nor destroyed is becoming a popular concept.
I’m willing to accept Atheism, ‘I do not believe in God’, as somewhat dogmatic, but as others have said, it’s the null hypothesis and they have Occam’s razor going for them. Pragmatically it is a useful stance in light of the societal harm religion does.
I am however unwilling to conflate Agnosticism with ‘I can not believe’, always been “I’m waiting for evidence one way or the other” to me, so perhaps the more scientific point of view.

Strange timing, just as a new US war starts…

This shit is getting way out of control.
Also, Linux / GrapheneOS Master Race

So, pretty much what Meta/Facebook (and the three letter agencies / GovInt) has been doing with deterministic code (like they’re not scraping reddit et.al, including Lemmy) for ages but probabilistic with more errors and new improved hallucination.
Competition, filling in gaps or just looking to be bought out. Evil.
Do you not get ‘open on the internet’? All the three letter agencies hoover the data up, your countries equivalents do as well, other companies. It’s only a bit in one companies hands, because it’s ‘open on the internet’, just like xitter, facebook, tiktok, their walled gardens don’t stop state level actors, just us plebs (a bit). That just leaves control (in real time), some power, some money there, but long term it’s the data that counts.

Look to the masters, the tobacco industry with additives to make it more addictive (been a while since I researched it and that’s the one that popped up, but they spent 60+ years making it more addictive).
Social media speedran it with something apparently innocuous (‘they trust me, stupid fucks’), and a bunch of corrupt psychologists (and marketers/advertisers also known as corrupt psychologists). Do no harm my ass, wait, that doesn’t apply to psychologists, wait again, that’s more like guidelines for doctors (not an actual vow in most places).
Next bill of rights / constitution needs to address this specifically, there’s a reason why quacks have a special hatred (and if there were one, a special hell)…

Fair cop, not my style, but you do you.
Agreed. They’re both open on the internet and the data is in many repositories. Moot point (OPs’, not yours).
Thanks for the ongoing positivity LadyButterfly, much appreciated.

Jokes on you, not wearing any (and how would you know on the other side of a cable) ;)
I get your point but I think there are higher levels here than just a nudity taboo.
Good to hear. Have fun.
