Kinesis are king. But if you want a cheaper option, Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic or whatever it’s called is quite good, even though it’s not properly split. The halves are angled so that your wrists wouldn’t be crooked.
And when I inevitably break the key mechanism trying to clean inside, I unpack the old reliable MS Natural 4000 and clack away again.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Signal Founder Moxie Marlinspike: Telegram is not private. There is nothing private about it. They've done a really amazing job of convincing the world that this is an encrypted messaging app
0·3 days agoSomehow all these years I thought that Marlinspike is either Swedish or Finnish, so the sauna would be on brand.
I’d worry that the cat can jump out. Then again, transparent backpacks apparently get hot and stuffy. I wonder if a non-transparent backpack with a plastic window and ventilation slits could work (or just with a grille instead of the window).
There are various backpacks with transparent plastic observation domes, which I think are included in ‘too little air’. I’m guessing a grille dome would work better.

Edit: maybe something like this:

News@lemmy.world•Kilmar Abrego Garcia asks U.S. judge to dismiss criminal charges, saying Trump administration's case is vindictive
0·4 days agothe average American has no idea that’s a crime of any sort.
It’s impossible to definitely say in the US that one hasn’t committed any crime.
Iirc the wand allows selecting the color everywhere in the image, and then any operations applied would show immediate feedback. Not sure the other way works the same, and probably requires going through dialogs again if any adjustments are necessary.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your top 5 favourite works of art?
0·5 days agoVisual arts:
-
‘Happy Person Having a Pleasant Conversation in Public’ by Randy Ortiz
-
Jackson Pollock’s ‘One: Number 31, 1950’
-
works by Aidan Hughes aka ‘Brute!’, namely his album covers for KMFDM and in particular ‘Split’
Music:
-
nearly everything by Mamaleek: try the albums ‘Diner Coffee’ and ‘Vida Blue’ (gotta note that I have no idea what the lyrics are, but what I deciphered of their other songs is somewhat abstract, so eh)
-
Last Exit at Deutsches Jazzfestival, Frankfurt, 1986 (with my favorite musician: bassist and producer Bill Laswell)
-
Nurse With Wound’s ‘Homotopy To Marie’
For performance, perhaps Meredith Monk’s ‘Turtle Dreams’, shot by Ping Chong. But I’m not an aficionado of the form.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are there regions of the world where local men and women have divergent accents?
0·6 days agoThere are a bunch of cultures where a ‘sacred language’ is permitted only for men, or there are distinct languages used by only men and only women. Unfortunately, my memory isn’t so good as to remember what those languages are. A quick search shows that the Kallawaya language is a ‘secret language’ passed down usually from father to son, and to daughters only if a man has no sons.
Check out ‘Gender role in language’ and the topic of genderlects; Gender differences in Japanese; Nüshu script.
You could also try looking through above-mentioned sacred languages and ritual languages for whether it’s mentioned that any of them are specific to a gender.

0·6 days agoPretty cool. Might want to repost to !jazz@lemmy.world, or perhaps better post the whole album in there.
It also helps to check for signs of pre-diabetes, as afaiu healthy people don’t get this issue. I didn’t start getting the shakes until I gotten fat and unexercised.
Btw, a simple alarm on the phone helps me remember when it’s time for a meal in my whack schedule.
It’s a consequence of low blood sugar. Although there are other possible causes.
That’s it! The description sounds pretty fun actually, I might need to fire the game up myself.
My nagging feeling that it was ‘Road Rash’ with a skateboard or skates didn’t deceive me, as apparently the ‘RR’ engine was reused for this game.

0·6 days agoOnce again I’m glad that I just search trackers with the browser and download torrents with a torrents client, like a peasant.
Are you kidding? The first two films were shot in the most boring way possible, which is a bit odd considering the director Chris Columbus had previously made the two ‘Home Alones’ and ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’. I still regret that I didn’t know of VLC’s playback speed adjustment when I watched ‘HP’.
Then they got proper good director Alfonso Cuarón, who shown how a fantasy film could actually look and feel. After which of course he wasn’t hired again, and instead in one more iteration they found David Yates, who churned out the remaining four films like it was a factory job for him.
I vaguely remember a skateboarding game from the 90s where the character could grab onto cars. But it was probably on something like Sega Mega and pretty primitive. Might’ve been one of the Simpsons games.
From what I’ve heard, the puppeteer Phil Fletcher occasionally throws out random stuff as jokes on co-hosts.
Good god. Makes me thankful that I leave people behind easily. You’re overdue for treating yourself to some unrestrained enjoyment of life.
How exactly are you imagining that? Did they stand in the way every time someone tried to wipe Trump out?

Even just a keyboard with left and right halves angled toward the respective arms would help. Because with a typical keyboard, the arms come at it at an angle, and then the wrists are crooked to have the fingers on the straight key rows. An angled or split keyboard allows to keep the wrists straight.
