I use Proton but now I think if I’m gonna send mails to a Gmail anyway, there’s no much difference except for the subscription ones not being scanned. And for those sites that I have to enter an email, I use addy.io alias or Firefox relay.

I’m EE major and feel tired to read books too. My solution is reading the book, optionally listening to the book, and taking notes together. I feel that taking notes can force me to understand what I read. When I can’t compose the notes, I ask LLM or read the thing again or Brave/DuckDuckGo it. I use Neovim to takes notes in LaTeX and Piper with Elleo/pied for TTS BTW.

If they really care about users’ security, they should make Graphene OS’s GMSCompact and explicit permissions the new standard instead of restricting what apps can they use and forcing invasive system apps. I came from Mastodon. I think Mastodon does have some good features that haven’t come to Lemmy such as account migration and bio sites verification, while Markdown and no word count limit in Lemmy excels Mastodon. Other difference are more due to the different nature of them, just like Twitter compared to Reddit, for example, more organizations, artists, developers, etc. post on Mastodon.
