Normally I’d ask “why are we comparing AI to the human mind when they’re not the same thing at all,” but I feel like we’re presupposing they are similar already with this test so I am curious to the answer on this one.
I would guess it’s because a lot of AI users see their choice of AI as an all-knowing human-like thinking tool. In which case it’s not a weird test question, even when the assumption that it “thinks” is wronh

And adding to this, in what world is being a house painter unskilled? I’m pretty sure there’s a large difference of skill between me chucking paint at a wall and hoping it sticks and someone who’s been doing it for years
I’ve found Google maps to be really shit at navigating for cars to be honest. I recommend Waze. My only gripe with waze is that they’re very car focused, so I still use maps when I go by bike, but at least that part of maps is pretty okay (at least for me)
