Don’t need the propaganda, we just need a completely Oslo-centric government that will happily spend money on public transit, as long as it’s in Oslo. Pretty much all the governments have been like that for most of my life.

Ah, you’re right. My goodness, couldn’t the Americans even agree with the rest of the world on make-believe silly-units?
“While we can agree that a gallon should be the nice, round sum of 32 gills, I find it ludicrous that you define it as five fluid ounces. I’m putting my foot down. In the United States, it will be the much more manageable four ounces, which will be a different size to your ounces. Nyyyaanyyaanyanyanyaaa!”

Ha. Try 2.40/litre ($11/gallon) in Norway.

I’m talking about Norwegians as an ethnic group, not citizens. There are about 4.45 million Norwegians in Norway and 5 million in North America.

Jepp. Jeg er nordnorsk, men vokste opp i Møre og Romsdal. Hvor i statene bor du, og hvor i Norge er familien din fra?

I can see that there are hints of northern Norwegian, like Æ and MÆ as personal pronouns - reminds me of my chatty aunties in Seattle, the family was originally from Svolvær in Lofoten.
There are some Norwegian speakers in the States that can speak quite pure Norwegian, but from what I’ve read, it seems to be a form of Norwegian that was common close to a hundred years ago.
Fun fact; there are about as many Norwegians in north America as there are Norwegians in Norway.
Ok, time for me to go outside.

I’m downvoting you specifically for that dumb grey blob where there’s supposed to be a pair of not very anatomically accurate cartoon boobs. You’re also disrespecting a work of art in the form of this man’s tattoo. We’re not on fucking YouTube or Facebook here. You’re not gonna get demonetized. What the fuck are you doing?

You’re doing the lord’s work. Each boob freed from the shackles of politically correct morons on the web make the world a better place to be.
For an example of how crucial it is too keep roads accessible and decongested, look at the Philippines. Metro Manila is currently losing 3.5 billion pesos PER DAY due to the constant congestion, and is on track for that loss reaching 6 billion. An average company employee might earn somewhere between 20-30k per month there, so 3.5 billion is a lot of money by Filipino measure.

The teleprompters are just for show so that it looks like he can read
A nice game of maaaawjong. I’ll see myself out…

You halfway answered your own question there. Just like in games and movies, they are lazily leaning on nostalgia in the hopes that it will magically generate some money.
In fact, it would be detrimental to their budget to do so. If I’m budgeting various government services and see that a specific service is consistently ending the year with a lot of unspent money, I’ll lower their budget so that the money can be spent where it’s needed.

Cargo shorts and t-shirt for eternity… Nice!
It is a gift. Why not use this shitpost against the foes of the fediverse?
Mint is minty
I consider it plausible that someone actually posted it and meant it, some people I work with have reached the same mental stage (slightly above toddler). Bear in mind; these people are allowed to vote and drive cars.
I’m pretty sure what most people are referring to here is unfettered capitalism. It’s not an on/off switch, you can have certain aspects of one thing combined with the other.
Fuel prices hit hard of you’re a Norwegian living outside of the cities (which is the majority of Norwegians). You really need to have a car in the countryside, as both buses and trains are few and far between. There’s still plenty of fossil-fueled vehicles out here. People keep them because they either can’t afford to make the jump over to electric, don’t trust the EV’s to handle winter well enough, or because they’re worried about the technological hurdle (Norway is an aging population).
