Most people don’t really know what they want until they’ve had their perspective is broadened.

Filtering people out based on specific physical attributes is wild in my opinion. So glad I found my partner before that became ‘normal’.

That being said I’m speaking for full fledged adults. We have research now that suggests adolesence extends to age 32. I wouldn’t be suprised if people in their 20s were overly focussed on the concept of a perfect physical match in their search for a partner, just from my memory of living through that age.

Kerala India achieved developed nation level performance on HDI (human development index) indices in a few short decades with expansive land and policy reforms under a democratically elected communist party.

Communism is an extremely effective tool at shaking off feudalistic old world tendencies but, as a system, it is extremely economically handicapped in a world where the wealthiest nations are capitalist.

Which is why China has had to adopted a hybrid “state capitalism” / mercantilism to achieve its rapid economic ascent.

If we’re going off election results it would be nearly two thirds of white men and more than half of white women so YMMV depending on which part of the country you’re in.

The European age of mass human sacrifice in the form of witch burning (1450 to 1750) is certainly something we don’t want to bring back.

If someone’s physical safety is under threat then this seems like a reasonable tool for self protection.

Let’s hope someone doesn’t abuse it.

I wouldn’t see it as being right or wrong. Both white folks in the comic would benefit from a broadening of perspective is all.

The white guy doesn’t understand why a unique space is needed for women and gets an explanation.

Anyone with a cursory understanding of history, particularly modern colonial history, where Europeans and their descendants actively dabbled in propoganda/a worldview that white = human and nonwhite = non/subhuman (culminating in Nazism) would understand this but our education system often avoids these difficult topics. Women were not able to hold credit up until the 70s and so their financial security depending entirely on their husband, depriving them of agency.

Unfortunately we can’t just flip a switch and make this history and its legacy disappear. I don’t blame the people portrayed in this comic. I blame inadequate education.

You would have to overthrow capitalism first. Which would be quite the task in the good old USA.
