No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there still anyway to bypass Youtube "Sign in to confirm your age" bullshit in 2026?
0·5 days agoI checked it now and it works fine if I don’t use VPN. but regular youtube also work fine without VPN.
If I switch to VPN both yt-dlp and normal youtube give same error “please login to prove you are not a bot” which is the problem OP is originally trying to find work around for

0·10 days agoI didn’t like Nvidia products even before hearing that.
Guess that another reason to avoid it.
You need to define what the word alive means first.
If you cut a roach’s head, it stays sort of alive in that the body responds when trying to touch it or expose it to harm but it won’t do anything if left alone. just standing still until eventual death.
A decapitated roach might still be able to “feel” pain but in my personal opinion - I am no expert in the matter - it doesn’t feel stress, trauma or have bad memory of the incident. Just pain and an appropriate reflex to it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How to I prove to someone that the U.S. moon landing wasn't staged?English
0·24 days agoI might spend time explaining to flat earthers why earth is not flat because it is important to know especially if you work in large construction projects and other jobs that require taking into account earth’s curvature.
Proving moon landing on the other hand is totally pointless. It makes no difference to you or the person you’re arguing with if the landing was real or staged so I’d second avoiding this kind of discussions.
Unless your friend is a scientist studying the moon rocks or a US astronaut that is

3·27 days agoI know duckduckgo rely on Microsoft bing for search results so I was assuming the AI is from ChatGPT?
I just looked now at their chatbot and they offer dififerent options most are based on OpenAI’s GPT (which even if self hosted, still relying on OpenAI). one other option based on Meta’s Llama and Calude.
Only reasonable option seems to be Mistral Small 3 which /u/horseloaf seem to suggest as well.
I’ll give it a try

0·2 months agoAlso its not true that space is “very very cold”.
If you are in space wearing space suite that doesn’t radiate heat properly, you could die from the excessive heat. Once dead your body stops producing heat and the existing heat eventually radiate away and your body freeze.
Space is neither hot or cold because these are property of matter. Since space has very little atoms, it technically has no temperature.
I didn’t understand this one. Why would any matter eventually turn into iron?

everywhere is ruled by bots now
