ID3 tags reader/writer library in Elisp for Emacs and a unit conversion app. that’s responsive to be able to be used on mobile Linux.
And people doubt the hypercarnivore theory.
I mean, – so long as we’re defining it in terms of trans Siberians – I don’t see why trans Siberian men couldn’t use it, also ;)

Star Trek Social Club@startrek.website•It's Thursday, but no new Trek airing. What are you guys watching instead?English

0·16 days agoAs much as I love it, that first Batman: TAS Clayface episode.
Gleefully tormenting a clearly desperate man with the thing he wanted most left me mortified.

0·18 days agoisn’t at the expense of either of the characters
It always felt like Odo had the slight upperhand (or narrative sympathy?) in every scenario which was a tad annoying when a major theme of his character arch is his possible propensity for outright authoritarianism (a character arch I thought was brilliant to give him and, sadly, not explored nearly enough).
I still love both of them but that aspect of the dynamic will always bother me.

0·18 days agoI mean, I’d argue that “Thank you” always implies acknowledging a social debt; if you don’t feel there was a social debt someone just assisted you with, I probably wouldn’t say, “Thank you.”
“Have a good day” would just as equally and politely close the interaction while not implying you were just assisted with a social debt.

0·18 days agoI wouldn’t say it’s bad acting? It seems right in line with an anxious people-pleaser who doesn’t know when to quit. I thought he was spot on.

Science Memes@mander.xyz•Nuclear energy enjoyers vindicated again after the rise in oil and gas prices.English
0·21 days agoFrankly, this is why I’m still antinuclear; everyone is always, “It’s so easy to store!” but, like, that’s a reliance in a world that loves cutting corners (usually because of corporate pressure…).
I’d rather invest in the energy source that doesn’t have devastating consequences if we don’t do it right or someone decides to drill into it despite all the warnings we put up.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are people using the "þ" character?English
0·5 months agoNo but it is very neurodivergent to singularly pursue a special interest without any regard for social awareness.
And very neurotypical to label that person as annoying or just doing it for attention.

Ah, a meetcute is a word (people may spell it normally with a space) for the moment in (usually) fiction where the two love interests meet for the first time and it’s clear to the audience they were meant to be.
Basically, the exact contents of the word: meet-cute = cute first meeting moment.
My comment was basically a joke, that this seemingly awful first experience was when these two people knew they were meant for each other (possibly, the intense eye contact might be the cute indicator of such a moment; that kind of thing. The absurdity is most of the joke).
Let me know if anything still isn’t clear!
