My dog only does this to beg food from me and it’s very effective. Like you might forget about him if he’s not physically touching you, reminding you to share.

Or, in the case of my cats, were cold and knew I was the warmest object available.

One of my coworkers said to me once that a day of our lives is like a week of our pet’s life. Since then I make sure to show them affection so much more throughout the day.
My old cat likes to be in the same room as people but at a distance. He’ll follow around a few minutes behind once he realizes you’ve left for the other room for longer than grabbing something and coming back. Doesn’t really matter what he’s doing even if just sleeping he just wants the company, at the other side of the room

People are so weird and performative about pets.
I promise it is okay to love and appreciate your pet as a pet and animal without unnecessarily projecting human thought and intention onto them.
Unless its a cat obviously. Then it just wants more food. Or maybe need a door opened.

For a dog, it’s coming to see where its master is. For a cat, it’s coming to see where its pet monkey is.

You joke, but cats are definitely capable of love for their humans. My cats love me like no other. My male cat can’t stand to be away from me. He gets separation anxiety when I’m not around and needs to lay on me for hours upon hours.
People who say that cats don’t need their humans have clearly never had a cat and are basing it on fake beliefs.
