I had to look it up. Yuck. A lot of users are just beta testers aren’t they? At least with Linux you know that people care about fixing it. But Windows, it’s a mess.

I had a Mazda Demio (aka Mazda 2) with third party insurance only (no fire or theft because there’s no need) and I had the best car alarm possible, I had pretty much every type of sensor but no GPS tracking.

Mazda Demio gets stolen because the key has no electronic security, whereas most cars have some kind of radio signal to authenticate. For the Demio it only needs the key turning in the lock, so I was smart and I got a proper alarm with a tilt sensor too, so nobody can even steal my wheels without triggering the alarm. Thieves will stuff up your ignition by ripping it out and playing with the wires and this happens all the time, even in people’s driveways.

A funny story - someone parked their Tesla near the airport on a public road. They were too cheap to pay hundreds of dollars for long-term parking, but because they parked on a public road for several nights, someone stole the tyres lol. They must have thought that because it was “high tech” therefore it was immune to theft. All the thieves had to really do was cover their faces hahaha.

Many of these cheap Mazdas get stolen by teenagers and then the police find the car rammed through a shop window at 2am. I never had that problem, nobody touched my car. If you have a valuable car it’s no good, you have to be so proud of it lol. Full insurance is so expensive it’s probably a good reason to not own a car again in the next 5-10 years. As soon as there’s a storm the premiums go up massively.

Parking was my least favourite, it’s worse than the actual driving part. I can’t realistically park on-site where I live, and all the nearby roads are filled up too. There are multiple shopping malls and a university. Very busy area! On the unlikely chance that I need a car, I can just rent an EV by the hour. It costs a fortune and I don’t really need it anyway.

Welcome to the club. We have many options today and people ought to slowly transition to a car-free life. I had owned cars on-and-off but I often caught the bus or rode a bike even when I had access to a car.

My old music CDs still work on the stereo and I bought some of my Megadeth albums in 2011. Perhaps music lasts longer than data.

David Icke’s 2019 book “The Trigger” was a good refresher for me. I highly recommend it. Very long book though!

That’s the whole point really, the people who start the company will gladly work 6 days a week and stay up late at night if they have to, and travel through different time zones. Which is fine if they enjoy it, but in an ordinary job for minimum wage I’m not going to act with that amount of loyalty to the company lmao. I’ll just resign if they pay me minimum and want me to attend meetings and pretend I’m some kind of executive. When I worked with timber they wanted me to meet suppliers to gain product knowledge but it never proved useful in my 5 months. It just took me away from customers or delayed my lunch break even further.

The EV rental in my country will only charge $20 to handle the fine, which is nothing. Coffee is like $5 or $6.

Websites should copy VKontakte and make the user line-up several words in Cyrillic. It’s the hardest one I’ve ever had to pass, it has to be exactly in the right place 😂

Sounds like a scam. My friend recently looked for cars online, saw one he thought was good. Had a weird description “only 70,000km on the odometre but air conditioning is broken” like how? Then my friend paid $300 for a “viewing” of the car and the scammer made off with the money. Needless to say my friend isn’t very smart and never was! Imagine paying just to see something. This is sadly what mental illness does to a person. Not the first time my friend was scammed either.

Brilliant. We all know that one person, or friend, who refuses to go ALL the way in regards to an idea. On other occasions it’s me who is the naysayer 😀

These people are foolish to use telegram, it’s just a plain-text unencrypted app. Plus there’s scams and spam all the time on telegram but not on signal.
