The problem is that most of us that would protest are not in a financial position to do so. If I participate in a work strike, I won’t make the money I need to pay my bills, I’ll be evicted, I’ll go hungry, I won’t be able to feed the family or the pets I will go destitute long before actual change happens. I’m not just making sacrifices, I am making that decision for my whole family. And that’s just the surface level changes. I cannot afford to leave where I am currently. I believe that is all by design and I am not even close to the minority situation.

Yeah, what if it happens that micro plastics are somehow being trapped in tumors actually removing them from the bloodstream? What if cancer is how we can get the micro plastics out? I’m only half joking here lol. A bleak thought for sure.

It’s dumber than that actually. LLMs are the auto complete on your cellphone keyboard but on steroids. It’s literally a model that predicts what word should go next with zero actual understanding of the words in their contextual meaning.

Despite what this meme implies, many many people do use and like AI chat bots and in my line of work, I am asked nearly daily which AI is the best to use and how users can have their own AI that answers emails or mocks up ideas or how it can make their daily job easier. I’m the wrong person to ask that to but I understand why they’re asking me. I’m their IT guy. I don’t particularly care if you use AI in your job because my job is just to make sure your computer keeps working.
