An action can benefit you in one way and still require self sacrifice. I would add that the action must benefit more than just yourself in order to qualify as heroic though.

Not at all. IUDs are 99% effective, but if you don’t wanna risk that 1% chance, that’s your decision.

Condoms also protect against STIs.

If you want them to put a condom on before they have sex with you they shouldn’t be arguing. They should either respect your boundaries, or go find someone else with boundaries that are more compatible with their desires.

In the future, if more similar attacks happen, I hope we all remember that Iran is defending themselves against a completely unjust war, launched on them by hegemonic force. Anyone affected by these attacks should place the blame on the US government for forcing Iran to defend itself.

Surely a society that has shown little care for women’s safety would never pretend to care about women’s safety to justify pushing their surveillance state forward.

Kinda sucks. Society really needs people who care about mens rights, but all we’ve got is people who think being a misogynist counts as being a mens rights activist.

It feels kinda strange to call them Mexican farmers. Like referring to the people who lived where the US is 9000 years ago “American Farmers”.

Like I guess that’s technically correct in a way. But it still feels weird.

In America, where most states the age of consent is 18, there are also laws that carve out exceptions if both parties are close in age. So a 19 year old is allowed have sex with a 17 year old, but a 45 year old isn’t.

We have that voter apathy because our voting system is awful, and doesn’t allow most votes to even matter. People should still vote, but that alone isn’t enough to fix anything. As things are now it’s damage control at best.

People are very selective about who to empathize with. Not everyone, but enough people. I feel like almost all of my problems stem from that, somewhere down the line.

You should really stop acting like a country is some monolithic thing where everyone thinks and behaves the same. That’s not how it works anywhere. C’mon big dog, a little nuance isn’t going to hurt you.
