  • The joke is that JK Rowling names her characters offensively.

I’ve seen this done before with multiple non-existent examples.

This one also uses a Japanese example.

My point is that JK Rowling already named an Asian character offensively. She also has an Irish kid named Seamus that loves blowing stuff up, and a black man named Shacklebolt.

All I’m saying is the joke is now distracting from the source, because there is a real example of using her naming conventions on Asian characters. I’ll also say that we don’t actually know Cho’s nationality, yet I don’t have faith in JK Rowling to distinguish between non-European nationalities.

Of course, the longer I talk about it the less funny everything becomes.

  • Oh yeah Prisoner was great.

Going to have to disagree with you on HBP. I went through a huge Potterhead phase as a teen and I fell asleep during that movie every time I tried to watch it.

At the time, the only other movie I had ever fallen asleep during while trying to watch was After Earth. So, admittedly, I kinda wrote the HBP movie off for that reason. But I’ve tried to go back and revisit it, and I just can’t keep my eyes open!

  • That’s awesome. I’m definitely checking that out. Twists on SMB are one of my favorite things.

Mari0 is one that I sank a lot of time into in the late 2010s, but my all time favorite is Super Mario Bros. Crossover. It’s SMB, but you can play through with basically every popular NES character with their original movesets. I’m talking using Simon’s whip on goombas, spread shot taking out King Koopa as Bill Rizer. Hell, you can play through the game as Zelda II Link if you want.

That hyperlink may not be functional, as it’s a flash game, but you can definitely find it on BlueArchive’s Flashpoint Infinity. I recommend for all retro gaming fans.

  • PS2 or PS3.

Those systems are where most of today’s stagnant franchises started. The modern universal control scheme started with the PS2 (that is, actually utilising both sticks in the modern tradition), so there’s no issues with playability.

I’ve been replaying GTA V, which is a PS3 game in case we all forgot.

A good PS2 and PS3 off eBay will reawaken your love for gaming. The PS2 has so many smaller classics that don’t get much love now (Sly Cooper!), and we’re still being sold and resold PS3 games to this day.
