  • There has to be a liabillity standard tho, otherwise it completely does away with any possibillity of even nominal accountabillity. If harm is caused because of a human, there is liabillity (whether directly or to whoever is responsible for that persons actions). The same should be true for whoever employs LLM for some purpose that results in harm. The LLM cant be jailed or “shutdown” really, its incumbent upon the handler to assume liabillity for the activities they are involved with

  • I think its underutilized as an actual brainstorming and dialectic tool, to say nothing of its proven abillity as a coding tool for at least code that can br quickly tested/iterated on.

There are many times I need something that I can put out an idea or situation and have someone or something that can help me explore the angles or say things I can react to that form an exploration. I can of course do that on Lemmy as well (which I very much do, obviously!) but the instant messaging aspect of the chats and their pace is important to me short of actually voice chatting. The dialectic is a super important thing to me because I’m not great at simulating the other party as opposed to having someone or something to play along with me and giving me something to bounce the ball off

Its going to be very interesting how things play out with them but I do consider them valuable tools that you can use for many purposes beyond the good old search engine or discussion forum but even better when combined with those other.

Its important to be a little critical or adversarial as a general rule but definitely when it says anything that arouses your suspicion or conflicts with things you feel confident to your core that you feel is contradictory to any aspect of its syntheses.

Its corrections or backtrackings really are fascinating and at worst they usually at least give you a trail to follow or further questions to help correct course and get closer to a more useful ouput
