I hate it when cacti suddenly jack off at me
Never ran into one in Phoenix but in Tucson, we ran into a green one on the way up Mount Lemmon. Beautiful but frightening.
This is why I stay on the walking paths in my neighborhood. They’re supposed to be here in NM, too, but I’ve never seen one where I live. I don’t want to meet one. Where I am it’s sagebrush and sand, maybe they’re closer to the mountain where the ground rocky like in this picture.

Man snakes are so cool
Regular snakes are pretty dope too, but enjoy the lifestyle.
Badger badger badger badger, mushroom mushroom! badger badger badger badger AH! Snake! Snake! Snake! Ooooh, it’s a snake!
Not so fun fact, because people out right killed every venomous snake they could see or hear, the venomous snakes evolved to be quieter over time.
I would not last long if I lived in a country with any dangerous plants or animals or geography or meteorology.
I spend a lot of hours trying not to think about all the snakes I have not seen while hiking.
Even after seeing the zoom in crop I couldn’t spot snek in the full photo for a minute.
I had to find the parallelogram rock first
