Whenever lemmings feel like posts are getting too political, doomy, or whatever, the hive mind decides to post beans

Moth, corns, and beans irritate me, but I like the orb posting. It’s mainly because the orb posting is normally kind of creative and whimsical, but the beans and the corn (and to a lesser extent the moths, which I could take or leave) are typically pretty low effort

A while back someone posted a picture of beans on here and said they had heard Lemmy upvote anything. That post got popular, and the joke resurges periodically

If there were ever a Lemmy get together in real life, one of us will probably bring some beans to it. Beans have staying power around here

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no.

I still remember the 2011 Reddit meetup, or whatever it was. Where they took a picture, and the girls were flashing their titties, and they were pouring beer all over the ground, and I swear there was an alternate picture besides the one that got famous, where the guy in the background was peeing on the driveway.

Can we please not do Lemmy meetups? I don’t feel confident that would be a good look for Lemmy.

You’re correct in that they’re shit posts. It’s like 6-7. It’s a cue to go away for a few days until the kids get bored with it.
