Hope we have fewer book burnings after this crusade. I think humanity was set back a few hundred years last time we went all-in on holy wars. I hate that we’ve regressed 8 centuries in just 6 years.

I used to believe humanity had a fighting chance at becoming interstellar but the last few years have convinced that we’re bound to this ball of dirt.

    “This community is to giggle”

There are currently lots of posts in this community that are not funny at all, but pretty angry. Can we agree that it’s not what this community is about, regardless of our opinions ? I would like this community to remain fun, with funny people still there.

Y’all can’t see this for what it is, a “this is what you paid for” moment tailored to Evangelicals. Kegsbreath is stumping for more quid pro quo because he thinks he’ll end up besting Rubio for the nomination in '28 if he pulls shit like this. In a true fascist state, wielding power is evidence of power itself, and he thinks he’s in a position where people listen to him when not forced to take orders. He’s high on himself.

Does TV Pete have the charisma to spin a “Guys, we didn’t quite get down the checklist for Armageddon yet, we’re just SO close, though, so vote for em and we’ll force Jesus to do our bidding and bring about the Rapture!” moment? Not without help, but he can get help from the Evangelicals with the right Mike Pence type.

Christians tying themselves so closely to this one repulsive political party may end up driving down member recruitment and retention, even long after the MAGA project has died.

I feel that this is a bit different, since the target my not be their base, but it might a way to try to trigger a response from islamist terrorist groups by making it about religion, and in turn drag the rest of the western world into the war. It feels too heavy handed even for the MAGAts.

Christianity is literally a religion created by the America of the time, co-opting the image of Jesus, a Jewish monotheist anti-imperialist revolutionary, after they killed him and goddamn, hasn’t it worked wonders for Western leaders… Deus Vult remains strong to this day! 😭
