So, no. that’s not how any of that works.

He was the head of the Shia sect of Islam. i.e. he was essentially the pope.

He was not the head of state and had limited power beyond his role as spiritual leader. The head of state would be the president of Iran, or the Prime minister. Both of whom did consult him, of course as it’s still a theocratic republic, but he had as much power as the pope has in Italy.

Repeating far-right propaganda like you are does nothing to help anyone. Change cannot be brought about by objectively false analysis and propaganda; hence the current state of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Look at this defense of a cruel dictator who publicly executes homosexuals and funneled weapons to ignite war in Palestine. Look at it claiming he was the pope.

And Tankies wonder why everyone hates them and don’t take them seriously.

          A) No, there have been no public executions of homosexuals under the Islamic Republic, you’re confusing that with the Shah

          B) Supporting resistance against a genocide is good, actually, and Iran was not under Islamic rule in the 1910s when the war in Palestine started.

Kid the genocide has been happening for 80 years. Uninterrupted. Oct 6th, yes, 6th, 2023 marked the deadliest year for Palestinian children for the last 50 years.

              …Before the attack.

History did not start on Oct 7th. Nor was oct 7th particularly special except that Mr. Polish guy from New York decided that would be the day he would accelerate his genocide.

You’re going to sit there and tell me that less people have died, less land was stolen, as a result of the Music Festival Attack? You’re a prime example of how the Iranian dictatorship and other Tankies don’t give a fuck about the lives of Palestinians, the war or the starvation they suffer.

The absolute fuck did I say any of that?

I know you liberals have reading problems, hence liberalism, but Christ you need to keep up with the conversation.

The Oct 7th attacks happened BECAUSE ISRAEL WAS COMMITTING GENOCIDE AND A GENOCIDED POPULATION HAS EVERY RIGHT AND WILL ALWAYS TRY TO FIGHT BACK.

                  Period.

It wasn’t KHAMASSSSSS, it was a multigroup attack on military targets. The music festival WHICH WAS A CELEBRATION OF GENOCIDE BY LITERAL FUCKING NAZIS, AS IN FASCIST MILITARY MEMBERS THAT DIRECTLY COMMITTED GENOCIDE AND THEN DANCED ABOUT IT, was not a target.

And, to fucking repeat the UN’s findings, THE MAJORITY OF ISRAELI DEATHS ON OCTOBER 7TH 2023 WERE CAUSED BY ISRAELI HELICOPTERS FIRING INDISCRIMINATELY AT THE CROWD AS SOME SUSPECTED HAMAS MEMBERS DROVE BY.

So no, that’s also not how that works. The Supreme Leader directly appoints and can dismiss at will 6 of the 12 members of the Council of Guardians that decides who can and cannot run for elected office. The Chief Justice appoints the other 6 but he is also directly appointed and can be dismissed by the Supreme Leader. Opposition candidate are routinely prevented from running. The Assembly of Experts selects and can dismiss the Supreme Leader but those members also have to be approved by the Council of Guardians so they’re all loyalists. The supreme leader is legally considered “inviolable”, with Iranians being routinely punished for questioning or insulting him. Oh, he’s also the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian armed forces too. He is not just a pope-like figure, he is the highest authority in the country with effective control over every government position and policy. Effectively, a dictator.

Less power than the Pope since the Vatican is its own city-state.

Eta so extremist, he’s the one standing between Iran and nuclear weapons, just like his father, peace be upon him.

“The problem is that they are too stupid to know they should be scared of me.” - Trump

No, they aren’t. The problem is that they are smart enough to know how stupid HE is.
