I’m sure she will tip a good 25% on the $0 invoice
You know, all those high schooler mixologists. With their own portable bars. Totally reasonable you guys, c’mon help 'em out!
Classic !choosingbeggars@lemmy.world behavior.Well that’s a dead community. Last update was 2 years ago
Lemmy has a dead community for everything!
There should be a community for dead communities.
Back in the day Reddit had something like that where you could request mod access if a community had been abandoned for long enough. I don’t know if Lemmy’s back end programming has functionality for that.
Some say the APIpocalypse refugees were… optimistic.
Signed, moderator of !cad@lemmy.world and former mod of several OG kbin magazines.
I made a kbin magazine for the game Satisfactory and I think one person posted to it! 😁
STAHP!
you are making me nostalgic for a particular dead subreddit takeover.
Do we have an insanepeoplefacebook community? This also belongs there if it exists on lemmy
I think she’s got them confused with kids that have a lemonade stand.
“unskilled labor” but done by young people so I don’t have to actually pay.
Society is way to comfortable with ageism such as this - a teen should have the same pay as an “adult” working the same job.
There is something to be said for experience.
If you expect to pay someone with one year of experience the same as you pay someone with 20 years of experience, then there’s still something wrong with you.
I agree, experience is important. However, I have to say: age ≠ experience.
Why do so many people want slaves
It’s very convenient
Slaves aren’t free! You have to buy them upfront and then provide food and housing.
This person wants magic.
True, they want volunteers or interns.
The magician is also free.
When you view other human beings as transactions, then slavery is no different than a coupon.
“You are magnanimously permitted to not keep the free work you did a secret.”
Hi, as a fine art photographer, I would love to shoot this mediocre bullshit event for negative money cause I’m spending gas and bringing some of my assistants with me.
Cheapo doesn’t even offer exposure.
They do. There is talk about using the job in portfolios.
That is sooo NextDoor. com.
just ballparking here, but that looks like at least $1000 she’s trying to cheat a bunch of kids out of.
The food for 25 is that $1000, at least. Sandwiches is already in the $500 catered range for that many people.
I’d put this more at around 3-5k, with the food ($1000), drinks ($500), DJ ($300), photo/video/editing x2 ($600), waitress x2 ($300), and singer ($300).
That’d just the 4 hour rate. I expect all those to double for 8 hours.
Do it for free on the promise for a tip afterward.
Everyone knows there will be no tip.
it’ll be a few of those tracts that look like money.
Pinky promise!
There’s lots of high school mixologists I’m sure.
Is pouring a bottle of everclear into a gallon of Hawaiian punch mixology?
It certainly is! As long as you stick a long wooden spoon in there and mix them together.

I did pretty well.
“I can make a screwdriver… or anything with soda.”
I can do a pretty good virgin cuba libre!
I used to work in a bar (not as the bartender) and only ever heard someone order a Cuba libre once, every other time they just said rum and coke.
Cuba libre includes a lime wedge for that extra zazzle.
Not in Cuba in my experience lol
Got a plastic cup of cola with a swig of rum. It was a welcoming toast at the hotel tho so not complaining
best i could do back then is take a cup to a soda fountain and go right down the line.
You and your friends sign up for this job. Day of, all of you either don’t show, show but then leave partway, or do such a terrible job that they send you home.
Show up, drink everything, chef makes a meal they feed to the drunks, dj starts playing american pie on repeat
“I’m so clumsy!”
It’s for a church honey. NEXT!
Omg what was this from?
/r/oldpeoplefacebook
Beautiful
NEXT!
omg that’s amazing…
Hilarious when they’re so serious!
Church lady asking for a ride for 20 people to some event. Everyone kept giving her suggestions and each one was met with a flippant, “That’s not enough for 20 NEXT!”.
Some old thread on Reddit, making fun of a Facebook post. I don’t remember which sub.
When I was in high school I had an acquaintance who made white Russians. He had a travel case specifically for all the ingredients and the glassware to match. Couldn’t make any other drink to save his life. The white Russians were acceptable.
Couldn’t make any other drink to save his life.
That’s just, like, your opinion, man!
The moment they said mixologist, that post became a criminal offense.
