To have a nice Outlook on things

Appreciate the kind words. I have had various approaches to try and “treat” this over the course of the last 15+ years, including the ones you named, like I mentioned, not exactly a new phenomena on my end.
If there was a suicide booth or a euthanasia clinic for people who just want to peace out, I’d have visited it 15+ years ago or any day since then, including today.
Also while I understand the notion that access to substances and firearms and whatnot might increase the risks of impulsive momentary courage (or stupidity), an average home and convenience store offer many items which can effectively facilitate the deed, don’t need to be super elaborate with hugging a grenade or slobbering on the barrel of a shotgun for an effective method… granted if the plan is to go out with a bang, who am I to stop it.
Sucks about the tumor though. May you easily outlive the expectations if you so desire

I can see where you’re potentially coming from.
But I don’t think you comprehend how violent an act of suicide is in almost all cases.
It takes an insane level of commitment to go through with that the first time, more so for the subsequent attempts.
Also of the people who really aim to end it, succeed on the first try.
I don’t know about you, but if given the choice, I probably wouldn’t be here. There’s nothing particularly wrong with me physically, I just don’t want to be here.
Been the case over a decade ago. Pretty much back as long as I can remember. Still the case today.
I do agree with the point that a humane way out will probably have a net positive impact in almost all cases. Especially if it comes with “here’s a list of things you should consider doing to lessen the impact on your family and significant other” or something of the sort. Needless to say, but should be entirely optional.
I don’t think I agree with the “other treatments” mentality though. That just sounds like what the Americans are doing with their abortion clinics trying to emotionally blackmail people into not aborting their child by forcing you to listen to heartbeats and look at ultrasounds.

And shouldn’t need to be terminally ill or old.
If I wanna peace out (humanely) at any age past adulthood, I should be able to.
I wish it was that simple.
Most large (and probably majority of small) cities experience this phenomena to some degree, most noticeable are ones that have aging architecture that wasn’t built to accommodate the ever growing heat.
It’s not even a question of using blackout blinds or putting UV reflective film on your windows or painting the roof white or even running the AC for as long as your wallet will allow you to.
The walls get hot. The ground gets hot. The roofs get hot. The air itself is hot. And it’s getting hotter (referring to the last decade+ as a trend)
Any reflective surface gets progressively more aggressive (glare and redirected heat) and anything that is not reflective is absorbing the heat at unprecedented levels the stronger the sun rays get, any dwellings not specifically engineered to deal with any of these heat phenomena are subjecting its dwellers to the consequences of not having any policies that would force these dwellings to be habitable in summer months.
This isn’t a problem that can be solved by simply packing my shit and moving, this is a systemic problem that we’re (more or less world wide) failing to address since the whole global warming thing is not being actioned at nearly the urgency it warrants.
With all the above said, there’s also the question of job availability and housing affordability, which is adding extra layers to this already delightful shit cake.
In short: It’s not that I don’t want to live with the penguins and caribou as my neighbours, it’s that I can’t afford to.
Man, screw DST. I just want my room to have a chance to cool down a bit from the blazing sun and incessant climbing temperatures before I go to bed.

Vampire survivors.
Same here and the battery is holding up pretty well even after all these years which is a nice surprise
I guess they took the L in more ways than one

Place your bets how long before this is moved into the nottheonion sub
Dibs on plants
Personally I opt for spring water, much more palatable
This is very much the best approach, help your kids along when they need it, but don’t make it the main source of their knowledge, anything else they should have the freedom to explore further on their own or ask for help to get there

Depends where. Most places around Montreal and Laval are pretty bilingual. The further you get away and eastward (3 rivières, Quebec City, etc. ) the more French it gets, even as close as 30 minutes out you might find there’s no English speaking folks at all, you will still be alright at most tourist destinations though. Not sure how it gets more westward towards Ontario.

Also a good way to start building or expanding the aforementioned block list

There’s a toggle to disable all of it with a single click, why do I need to go fishing for it?
