Bigger cars do WAY more damage. To pedestrians, the impact is higher on the body and far more lethal; and to other vehicles, well that’s obvious.
I think you’re right though, with simplified physics the additional traction does cancel out the additional momentum.
But wider tyres and expensive brakes actually don’t make a difference. More contact with the ground just reduces the traction per area, total traction hasn’t changed (assuming a smooth road). As for brakes, as long as they’re strong enough to lock the wheel, that’s enough. ABS helps a little, but expensive designs are only useful if you’re in a race.
Imagine if speed limits were variable based on a car’s weight and lethality. Only small cars are allowed to go fast.
Exactly. This post actually reinforces why I don’t want to alter my reality. That little window of interpretation is absolutely remarkable, it’s all we have to anchor us to the outside world and I will never give that up. Not that I’m dead against occasional hallucinogenics, but our perception is an amazing thing and I feel bad for people who don’t appreciate it.

This article gives some insight, https://7news.com.au/news/australian-passport-fees-to-jump-again-in-2025-heres-what-youll-pay--c-17225775
It sounds to me that it’s the most expensive in the world because it can be and it raises money. The government and DFAT say it’s expensive because of the technological sophistication, which is why it’s highly trusted worldwide, and the cost pays for it’s expensive production.
But New Zealands is just as powerful and only costs $205 AUD, and Singapore’s is considered the worlds most powerful and only costs $83 AUD. Maybe the sophistication isn’t so important, maybe the costs are just way lower there, or maybe it’s subsidised.
I bet if it becomes a political issue they’ll drop the price in a heartbeat to make themselves look good. Australian (Libral party) governments have a history of cutting costs and raising prices in every way they can get away with to make their budget look good.
Another interesting point is the US passport was $252 AUD back in 2024, but comparethemarket.com.au lists it as $414 in 2026. Massive hike. Probably because Trump.

I miss that games were completely finished and polished, put on a disk, and never touched again.

No one’s said Infamous yet. Shocking. Well Infamous. You get to choose if you’re going to be good or bad and it’s super satisfying either way. Dishonered has that same sort of choice, also amazing whichever way you go.

It’s not even that old, why’d they remove it?

Fair enough. Does your girlfriend know?

But now it’s more wet and the question remains

I’m pretty sure Shell and Ampol are the main culprits. Other stations don’t seem shift as dramatically.

I used to get most of my music from mp3raid as a teenager

If you’re talking about modern pop, I completely agree. But there’s so much amazing music coming out every year, way better than anything before it imo. My guess is if you really do want to find great new music, then you’re not exploring enough. Or maybe you’re happy with what you already know.

I interpreted this as real meat tissue grown synthetically rather that minced ingredients that mimics meat.

There was a time when there was no content here, but people came because of what it stands for. Decentralisation, freedom from monetisation and corporate censorship, etc. The fact that that the content is now comparable to reddit is a huge achievement. And you can still visit your niche communities on reddit. No one’s going to ban you for using both.
This sums up my online habits so well
Well now everyone’s having lucky dip dinners from now on

The good news is they only had a mild case of death
Late to this party but I fear your list will never be complete without Wallace and Grommit and Spongebob Square Pants. You could add Shaun the Sheep too.
