I do the same, but to limit dog hair building up in my workout shoes. I’m also technically swapping from one pair of socks to another, so my workout socks never actually touch the floor.
It always did bother me a little the the inside of shoes is basically impossible to clean well. The best you can do is throw them in the washer if they’re not made of leather and that still doesn’t do well.
But the inside of my shoes is a lost cause :) Hell the Roomba looked at me yesterday and said “I’m Tired Boss”

But then it gets in the shoes.

If the inside is leather you can wipe them out with a damp cloth
ouside leather, inside open cell foam and fabric bacteria soup.
The trick is limiting the amount of dog that loses hair. This process takes time.
