I’m old, I’m fat, I’m lazy. I don’t want to have to put my foot up on my knee twice as often.

Who wears socks? Flipflops for life. Kick 'em off as you get into bed, slide 'em on as you get up. Same for the shower.

Oh wait, some of you have too much weather. Do as you want, then. But do have easily-donned foot protection at bedside in case of emergency.

So I had read about this and at the time was equally enraged on the thought of doing sock shoe sock shoe. And then suddenly, without even noticing, one day I just started doing it. It happened maybe like 3 times before I noticed and now it’s just my default because it feels better I guess? Granted, I don’t do it much as I generally loathe wearing socks, but I’ve come to accept as something I now do.

I know this is a joke but I still do this when wearing a suit with creased pants. Let’s you do up your laces and if you’re tucking the shirt you need to undo the trousers anyway. Keeps them looking crisp, at least when it’s an event you change into the suit right before.

You must live in a warm area, have a very well isolated house, or have heating in the floor. If I’d do they here for 70% of the year my feet will be way too cold to be comfortable

Socks+rugs and carpets make cold floor a non-issue, and it now gets to -40 for a week or so every winter here so I certainly wouldn’t call it a warm place (though most summers it’ll get as high as 90F at 100% humidity)

It always did bother me a little the the inside of shoes is basically impossible to clean well. The best you can do is throw them in the washer if they’re not made of leather and that still doesn’t do well.

But the inside of my shoes is a lost cause :) Hell the Roomba looked at me yesterday and said “I’m Tired Boss”

I do the same, but to limit dog hair building up in my workout shoes. I’m also technically swapping from one pair of socks to another, so my workout socks never actually touch the floor.

The trick is limiting the amount of dog that loses hair. This process takes time.
