I think they were using the technique of adding periods for emphasis:

AS. IN. THE. CASE. OF. NORMAL. SENTENCES.

They must have missed that that’s not the way you’d emphasize a word by spelling it, and should instead have typed Z-E-R-O.

Most of those people are currently government officials in different countries around the world and they see Americans aren’t bothered by their high ranking criminals so they don’t bother with their own.

Advocating for them (the government, whatever team they happen to be on) acting on the Epstein files is like asking a toddler nicely to punish themselves. It is not in their best interest to do so, because it hurts their main benefactor, the owning class. The only way to have a shot at this happening is if the government is no longer owned by the owning class. To get there, you’d need to get rid of a number of things:

    • the threat of capital flight (“if you do something I don’t like, I will take my gizmo factory elsewhere”)
    • the ability of the owning class to shape the opinions of the electorate through owning the media (social and legacy) they consume
    • the ability of the owning class to legally bribe politicians (“if you do this thing I like, you will get a cushy job at my gizmo factory, or I’ll pay you 500k to talk at my event for an hour”, also super PACs)

Until you get rid of all this, no one (on any side of the aisle) will ever do anything about the epstein files, no matter how many parades/protests you do. Your collective votes do not weigh up against the three points I mentioned. See also the Panama papers.

Oh and voting doesn’t work to fix the three points, because the three points ensure that most candidates (on either side of the aisle) do not benefit from doing anything about them, and the ones that do don’t have much of a shot at winning (see point 2).

Oh shit yeah you’re right, I forgot about the democrats! I love how they advocate for universal health care in their campaigns, as well as workers rights, and anti war stuff. Remember when Harris said she actually didn’t like fracking? Man those guys really care about the environment. I really loved how they didn’t send billions in military aid to a nation committing a genocide. Oh and remember when they reinstated roe v wade? Man that was heroic. Thank God these guys never bailed out any banks. Very glad they’re on our side, and clearly not beholden entirely to corporate interests.

When you have an unfortunately biased 2 party system, you can choose the formless weird airline food or the pile of glass and barbed wire. You are suggesting that we do nothing at all, or just not vote, which helps glass barbedwire burger-man.

We can progress out of shit soup, but we are headed toward fascism. We just need to get rid of Dumpling first. Dumpling, then AIPAC and replace congress, and eventually the presidency. Throwing a fit and being cool with a worse (now potentially unstoppable) option doesnt make you morally superior or anything of the sort. Leopards, meet face.

Man why am I even arguing with a bad faith arguing bot, tf is wrong with me.

Not exactly - congressional investigations are going on, but processes IRL don’t produce results in 22 minutes like on TV. It doesn’t work like, “We see you’re in the files, welcome to jail.”

Epstein himself was indicted more like 20 years ago. The 22 minute TV show reference was overly sarcastic, but I’m not an apologist for anyone. The justice system is just excruciatingly slow. My belief is that Bonespurs will probably dodge all consequences by having his final Big Mac Attack. With him gone, his coattail riders will probably start backstabbing each other and maybe then we’ll see some action.

This isn’t a “justice is slow” problem. This is a “the justice system only serves to punish the poor and powerless” problem.

The fact of these files is they were in the hands of the FBI and prosecutors 20 years ago. Nothing happened as a result even though there appears to be dozens of individuals capable of being charged with crimes. That’s 20 years of incriminating evidence just sitting around collecting dust because it’d be politically inconvenient to pursue charges.

Justice moves rapidly when a power tripping cop wants to ruin you life. It moves very slowly when a rich pedophile rapes children.

The DOJ does suck, and Epstein (and Maxwell) were horrific rapists and sex trafficers. However, the files don’t prove a widespread conspiracy, they instead prove what we already knew, that people in power are shitty people, who look the other way, and readily associate with deeply immoral criminals, just to gain influence and network. All this shit about a widespread cannibal cabal makes you look disturbed and conspiratorial, instead of facing the much less crazy, but arguably just as sad facts.

The released files literally include correspondence where Epstein is directing the conspiracy theories that Qanon/Rogan/4chan ended up pushing. And the rest of the files confirm that the conspiracies pushed were just admitting what he and his friends were doing but blame other people.

I don’t think that’s correct, maybe I’m wrong but the files released so far at least don’t include that. Regardless, I’m not disputing that he and his friends did horrific things, might as well have blamed them on others. I am just saying that extrapolating that to a large scale conspiracy with the active participation of the number of people suggested is super unlikely. This is in no way meant to defend anyone involved with Epstein, they are despicable ghouls who should suffer the consequences of their actions.

No I think I’ve spent the last 10-20 years listening to right wing pundits push crazier and crazier conspiracy theories.

I don’t give a fuck what the right thinks. They can release the Epstein Files and prove all of this wrong in an instant, they haven’t — so they’re cannibals.

You cannot reason someone into a position they did not reason themselves into. What they think and how they feel does not matter, because they aren’t the ones in control of it.

I am not mirroring a crazy person, I am shining a light on their crazy. If they’d like to set the record straight they’re more than welcome to, but the ball is in their court.

Because of the cannibalism, of course.

Edit: oh, and I know exactly how it influences reality — did you see what happened recently to vaccine mandates in the U.S.? We reduced the number of childhood vaccines from 17 to 11. The specific vaccines are: respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), hepatitis A, hepatitis B, dengue, meningococcal ACWY and meningococcal B. They’ve cited that only children in high risk categories should get these vaccines.

If that isn’t evidence of crazy conspiracy theories affecting reality I don’t know what is.

Thanks for the correction, you’re right, crazy conspiracy theories do affect reality in that way. I meant affecting reality in a way where, no matter how many people say vaccines cause autism, it won’t make it reality. So by that example, no matter how much the right was ‘projecting’ about cannibalism and other stuff, that by itself is not proof, or proof of the contrary.

I understand where you’re coming from, and you’re absolutely correct. This is information warfare though, and one side accepts facts and science while the other accepts vibes. Cannabalism is a bad vibe, and if the right wing media ecosystem tries to sanewash it (like the whole ‘Trump isn’t a pedo, he’s a hebephile’ sham) — they don’t come back from that.

Right, it just proves there’s a widespread group of people who came together and came to an agreement about the crimes they were committing and how they would get away with it. Hmmmmmmm, I wonder what a word for that would be…

      conspiracy /kən-spîr′ə-sē/
      noun

An agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act.

An agreement between two or more persons to commit a crime or accomplish a legal purpose through illegal action.

Huh, would you look at that, it WAS a conspiracy!

I don’t care how large the group committing the acts are if there is, in fact, a large conspiracy of people actively protecting them. One person actively committing the crime is one too many, and anyone protecting them is complicit. If this were a bank robbery where someone was killed, the getaway driver still gets the murder conviction, even if he never went in the building.

To bastardize an old saying, if there are 10 people at a table and they choose to let the cannibalistic pedophile sit down and don’t immediately eject them with a brick, you have a group of 11 people conspiring to protect a cannibalistic pedophile.

There were a few emails from people asking epstein for some of his jerky. Annoyed replies saying that the supply of jerky given them should have lasted longer. Then an email from Maxwell saying something to the effect of “there will be no more jerky for a while, Mr. Epstein has decided to return to normal food.”

I do not know in what other context that could have possibly been other than cannibalism.

Viewing justice as the punishment of the guilty is conservatism 101.

The real failure is that no legislation, law-enforcement, or court action has been taken to address why billionaires can snatch little girls off the street. The real failure is that rape is barely even illegal in the US, and it’s viewed as right and proper when powerful men have access to little girls the same way their wealth provides them with access to all rare and desirable objects.

This isn’t because our leaders are sick, it’s because our society is. These men didn’t steal our daughters, we sold them out, cheap. No amount of Presidents in prison will change that.

Heavily regulate Meta, Amazon, Microslop, and others as corporations, introducing consumer friendly regulations that curb the power these companies have over daily life, impose massive taxes on people who have over, let’s just say 650 million USD in assets (not just liquid money) and give the laws actual teeth. Fines based on percent gross income for the corporation and hold both the CEO AND board of directors accountable for the actions of the corporation as a whole, then remove the ability for non-human persons to make political contributions. I have not read any of the files yet, but I have been told they include unsubstantiated and un-investigated reports, some of which may be “trolling” and not even attempt to contain any truth.

That said, cannibalism is, IMO, a lesser moral failing than what the victim reported (and continue to support).

I think it’s weird for beef jerky to be “the only thing I eat”, but I know people that do the “carnivore diet” and that’s supposed to be meat-only.

Maybe it is code for some illicit item that you might measure in pounds and consume, but I don’t think that’s obvious or certain.
