Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•If you ever see a billionaire like this, warn a brother.
2·4 days agoI miss that sub. And the robot they all fell in love with.
my grandma used to have one in the back of a fireplace to make it look pretty. I asked her what it was and she said a salt lamp. I was a dumb kid so OBVIOUSLY I needed to know what it tasted like. When she wasn’t around I crawled back there and took a lick. What I didn’t account for is that it would be covered in ash and dust and my tongue would just be covered in that instead.
Good times.

for what it’s worth this is what Colorado springs police cars look like:

User Experience Friction - You can’t just sign up, you need to pick a server. You’ve already lost a significant amount of people in that step.
I think this can be improved if there was a better way to explain the identity of each instance and why you might want to join other than just “generic Lemmy server for everyone to use”
Also if the random server a new user randomly joins is one of the tankie trifecta they’re not gonna have a good time.
I suggest a map that shows which instances are federated/defederated from eachother and lets you find which one has the closest identity to what you like. And possibly a disclaimer before joining one of the trifecta instances.
Or just say fuck it and join the one literally called “shit just works” like me 😂

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•get yourselves some maid already
35·7 days agoEuthanasia or assisted suicide is legal in Canada under certain circumstances. Its legal form is called medical assistance in dying (abbreviated as MAiD or MAID). Under federal law, the practice cannot be administered as a result of any outside influence or pressure. A minimum 90-day assessment is conducted before determining eligibility with numerous other procedural safeguards also in place.

for all these people booing, I want to point out that I don’t blame you OP. AI is sneaky and any meme nowadays you post without thinking has the chance to turn out to be a trojan horse of slop.
I do, however, blame the mods for not listening to the community and adding a rule about AI.

genetics probably. My feet naturally rotate and touch the ground when I sit. I got it from my grandad who used to call it “duck feet”
i can do 180° with no pain

this is as far as I can go

I got some of the hypermobility genes, but my sister got more. She can do a full split without practicing in years
