I have this. I just ended up installing a curtain rod and a shower curtain that I remove weekly to avoid pulling off tile via gradual pressure fusion. What a worthless fucking shower

We have two of those in our home, I installed small rings in the water tube, so that much less water comes out. Now, even our guests do not completely sprayed the bathroom . Added advantage: better for the climate.
As a disabled person who can’t sit or stand up doorless showers are my holy grail I could finally feel fucking clean instead of relying on sponge baths.

No offense intended, but isn’t that why shower rooms were invented? Waterproof the walls/floor with that cheap plastic stuff, curved edges on the walls for easy cleaning, plastic curtain on rails on the ceiling for blocking most of the water. Slope it down into the floor drain. No steps or doors. Is there really no safety net to get this sort of thing installed where you live? I would happily contribute a bit to a gofundme link for this, and I’m sure there’s plenty of others who would too. And the legal system I live under doesn’t have any law to make landlords follow accommodations…
That’s completely fair! Sorry, I underestimated the cost and the problem of getting permission as a renter. I looked into it properly and, although the plastic covering and curtain are cheap, constructing the drainage, sloped floor and waterproofing can still cost around £6,000–£8,500 here. If you’re comfortable saying which country or state you’re in, I’d still be happy to check whether there are any local grants, charities or tenant protections that might help. No need to give your precise location.

(I have however spent a long time exploring all the possibilities and am fairly certain there isn’t much to do for now, bar moving which since I’m rent controlled would probably be impossible financially ahah. So more just a reality of being disabled and unable to work under the system than something that can be fixed at an individual level unfortunately).
What does a doorless shower offer that the same design with a door for that opening doesn’t? I would think there’s some accessible compromise that keeps the floor dry. Of course, the true holy grail would be the showers you sometimes see overseas where there’s a whole compartment built on a drain pan so the open door isn’t an inconvenience.

The walk in/doorless shower in my old appartment had no lip, and my current appartment showerr has a 30cm lip.
i assumed all walk/doorless in showers were without the lip but it seems I was wrong.
the door on mine is a slider that can be moved with a feather.
You should be able to get a glass half door that clips on to give you a little more protection.
You could also get a more downward shower head

The shower-head is the issue. Doorless installs like that need a rain shower head.

Doorless showers are great for the elderly, disabled, orgies, you name it- WHEN DONE RIGHT. This is far from correct. The shower spray should be spraying away from the entry, not right fucking at it. It’s puzzling because it looks like the control valve is on the near side so they routed the head all the way around to be in the wrong place? Even then, this is kind of a small space for a doorless. Also, one of those stupid corner shelves and a safety handle way the fuck in the corner. Buy a shower rod and floor length curtain to hang inside the glass wall. It’ll be real fancy.

That just looks like an unfinished shower, or a sliding door set with a missing half. Maybe you could get a little shower curtain to hang up across the hole

This is becoming a staple in cheap and mid-price hotels. I have to use half my towels to keep the floor from being wet.
Question on this… Why would you do that? Like 1 medium towel vaguely covers the wet area and its not like your probably sub-one-week stay is going to hurt anything if there is permanent water damage.
I never understood the reason for open showers. “Enjoy your wet bathroom.”
In Asia the whole bathroom is designed to get wet with a drain in the center
I went to korea once, and I’m still dreaming of having a shower like the ones I encountered there. It’s a totally different experience.
Why? It never dries in that humidity.
It is the same in the nordics as well.
Come to Korea! Many bathrooms are just closets with a toilet and a sink with a shower head attached and you just shower in the bathroom and soak anything that’s in there.
