Seems pretty lucrative, though. Thinking about accepting.
$300 an hour? Say hello to Dr GPTs new human avatar.
Give it a crack, what’s the worst that could happen?
isn’t that one of those “pig butchering” scams?
Is that one of the states with mandated reporting of miscarriages because it might be an abortion? Pass.
Just report that both Greg Abbot and Ken Paxton had miscarriages.
Take the interview and waste their time
You can negotiate that rate. Tell them you need travel and housing reimbursement too. Rural locations tend to pay higher so don’t let them lowball you.
Yeah, but you’d have to live in Dickson, which isn’t great.
/shrug
It’s near the interstate and only about 45 min outside of Nashville. $300/hr is a lot of money.
Assuming you get 5 12-hour shifts per month, that’s only $216k per year. Sure, you have a lot of time off, but you can make much more as a doctor, depending on what kind of specialty, of course. Maybe OP can tell us what kind of doctor he isn’t.
$216k is plenty to live on for putting in so few hours
I’d do reprehensible things for $216k
I absolutely agree, for me, but is it enough to attract a doctor who probably has $240k in student loans to pay off and can make more elsewhere? To someone in that position it may not be worth responding to.
24 hour shifts
Certainly possible. I haven’t bothered looking into what types of shifts are typical for doctors in hospitals, but $430k is certainly more attractive.
Maybe OP can tell us what kind of doctor he isn’t.
The title is I’m not a doctor, nor have I played one on TV.
Maybe OP can tell us what kind of doctor he isn’t.
Its not that bad, other than the traffic/drive into Nashville. You live in a reasonable part of the state, with access to everything good, but dont have to pay crazy prices to get shitty schools, and potholes. I would pick Watertown over Dickson though if I wanted to be just out side of town.
Me:

They don’t specify what kind of doctor.
Please forward to me, I could use the extra cash.
He seems to have included the phone number. You just have to guess the last digit.
As someone who has worked for €5/hr, $300/hr is astronomical
I once quoted a customer $400 an hour because I didn’t want to develop their shitty product.
it worked.
We call that an FOQ - fuck-off quote
It’s a real thing for some specialized doctors apparently
Don’t read how much lawyers make.
Depends on the country. Lawyers in Germany have a minimum rate of around 220€/h. But when you factor in tax, cost of coworkers, cost of the subscriptions to legal commentaries, length of education (regularly 5 years at university + 2 years in practical education) etc. it’s actually not too much.

I know a vet who used to do the ‘relief shift’ thing, and he was pulling $200/hr. I would imagine a doctor can swing it as well. And yeah, if I even did that for two months, it would be life changing money for me.
