Yo ho ho, it’s a pirate’s life for me.
If 40 year old consoles can resume back to normal, so should 10 year old consoles.
However, it should be noted that the PS3 is now 20 years old.
the PS3 is now 20 years old
OutRAGEOUS misinformation…
It may have been 10 years old back in the olden days. Perhaps we need a historian or archeologist to weigh in.
And there have only been two new consoles in the past twenty years*
Might’ve used it until 2016, that was just three years after release of the PS4.
I find my DS every few years and it still just turns on with the same charge for the last decade and a half. No idea what they made those batteries out of.
tfw i turn on my ps1 to play final fantasy 7 and my save where i go on a date with barret is still there.
Just saying, the Xbox 360 doesn’t have that problem, since buying a game gives a license to both the account and the console it has been bought on. So even if you get banned, your console should still be able to play the game with an other account. Of course they “patched” it with the Xbox One.
The “patch” for the X1 also allows anyone on the home console of the account to play the game, which has led to many people game sharing with a friend.
Still have a slim PS2 and wouldn’t you know it, it still plays all the games I bought for it.
Amazing. Maybe we could reverse-engineer it and figure out how the ancients achieved this technology.
But that would be communism!
It was achieved by emblazoning the games on to sacred discs.
I put a hard drive in mine, now it also plays the games I didn’t bought for it!
Yes, I expect that.
Just shake out the mouse turds and plug that fucker in
It’s a N64, not an IDF rack. No mouse turds in my home electronics.
Oh, my sweet summer child…
I booted up my PS3 recently and everything worked as it did last time I turned it on, in like 2014. It needed a firmware update for the Blu-Ray player to play a Blu-ray my partner got, so I installed CFW. Now it works great forever! But even before modding it, I booted up into some random stuff. It remembered where I was, after modding, on a Blu-ray movie I didn’t remember watching!
I have an Xbox 360 that has sat idle in closet since 2015. This past January, my son and ai were snowed in when I remember it. Pulled it out and found the kinetic. For the next 3 days we played fruit ninja and had a blast. I didnt connect online for any “Updates” so im not sure if I lost any licenses
Everything about modern console gaming has been frustrating. I’m trying to help my kids, but having physical media hard to find, never-ending account creation, and then features locked behind online stuff, that you then have to subscribe to the console company to play anything online? What have we done?
Sony should fucking refund me for every one of my games that I bought that stops working
I’ll just never rent anything from them again. Fuck renting.
“Tøblin”'s brand of corporate apologia is so dumb. Oh, no, I just hadn’t considered that they were being dipshits for money, that’s perfectly all right then.
Haha, I was selling a whole racing chair/wheel/shifter combo for my partner’s dad and he got it for the PS3, so it came with around 10 games. I used dirt to test it, ended up deciding to keep it for myself in the end.
BUT my account and downloaded games also worked, because I didn’t hook it up to the Internet (which after reading this I shall never do).
That shit should be illegal. They should be charged with theft and treated accordingly, or at the least get the shit kicked out of them; the way we used to treat thieves in the good old days.
I fire my 8 bit Nintendo up every five years or so. As long as I blow in the cartridge I’m still good to go.
Fgs use a q-tip! Your saliva will corrode not only the cartridge but the contacts in the system.
I’ve always been told not to put a qtip anywhere my elbow wouldn’t fit.
Then how do you clean your colon‽
That’s what the toilet brush is for.
Does a nipple fit.
I’m more disgusted at the state of their urethra. You’ve gotta clean that thing
I ask one of my friends to use their elbow for me.
Seems reasonable.
Have you tried their knees instead?
Elbow.
I’ve replaced the save battery on NES carts before and save keeps working. Gaming used to be cool. Now it’s just a momentary money grab the company hopes you forget about.
If the saves are still there you can probably transfer them to an Emulator. Ps3 emulation is getting there.
