I am a heavy beer drinker. I am ok with cutting that in half and taking up trying to walk 5 miles a day. Just for frame of reference.

Hard cardio, CICO, and drink as much water as possible. The bad thing is that there’s really no other way, the good thing is that it’s pretty binary.

Watch, “Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead” documentary. I’m not saying you need to go super hard, but the first 10lbs can be done in a long weekend bc you’re fasting and drinking juice/water.

I lost about 25lbs in 3 weeks doing a 70% veggie, 30% fruit juice diet. I had migraines from lack of caffeine and processed sugars, but after the first 7-8 days I started to feel better. You don’t realize how unhealthy you ate until your body has to adjust without all the garbage, and starts to reset!!! I haven’t had an intentional caffeinated drink in almost a decade. I’m a better morning person because of it.

Your first step should be religiously recording every calorie you consume. Look at those numbers and decide where to cut.

If you don’t know how many calories you’re consuming, how do you know what to change? It also adds a mild bit of friction and makes one think more before consuming, which is not a bad thing. If you mostly eat processed stuff, many apps have a barcode scanner that, in many countries, already has all the info input by someone.

20lbs is about 9kg, and there are 7,700 calories in a kilo of fat. So assuming you don’t want to lose muscle mass and you’re not just trying to weigh in at a number (in which case you could temporarily shed some water weight) — and assuming your metabolism plays along — you’d need to run a defect of 70,000 kcal over the month, or about 2,300 a day. That seems straight up impossible if you need to lead any kind of life.

    Wrong community

Tracking calories worked for me, I lost 30lbs in 6month with no added exercise or weight loss drugs. Walking is good but doesn’t burn a lot of calories, weightlifting will burn fat faster. Drinking beer regularly will make you fat, stop drinking regularly and you will slowly lose weight.

Entirely wrong community, but drop all liquid calories, eat like a poor person (rice and beans with the cheapest veggie you can find, limited to one or two small bowls a day) and do something along the lines of the one punch man workout to increase your deficit while ensuring your body prioritizes fat loss and not muscle loss.

Fun fact, diets don’t work, changing your lifestyle does. After a month of this, if you actually keep it up, you’ll be down close to 20lbs as long as you’re heavy enough to actually have 20 lbs to lose.
